Botswana is one of our top spots for an all-ages safari, a destination made up of diverse ecosystems, from the Kalahari Desert and the magnificent salt flats of the Makgadikgadi Pans to the seasonal floodplains of the Okavango Delta and the sweeping grasslands that extend all the way to the banks of the Zambezi River. Thanks to this range in habitat, there is an incredible variety of game and birdlife, as well as all manner of land- and water-based activities, including private camp sleep outs in the wilderness and boat trips complete with special extras arranged by us, such as a surprise picnic on a secluded island. More family fun is on the cards in Kenya, where the list of fabulous things to do is endless – think riding, walking with camels, visiting anti-poaching units, tubing, exploring waterfalls, fishing, bow and arrow making and archery. In Zambia and South Africa, privacy can be guaranteed in a range of lodge buy out options, with the latter a particularly good bet for families as it’s malaria-free. The best bit? Our favourite family camps all have swimming pools, which should help keep little – and large – people entertained.
