DID YOU KNOW?

Salar de Uyuni has a unique, mirror-like property that is visible during the rainy season. The vast, wet salt flats create an identical reflection of the landscape for one of the most incredible views you’ll ever see.

Experience highlights

  • Touching down in Peru allows time to acclimatise to the altitude before hitting Bolivia, where much of the country sits 4,000m above sea level. Lima is renowned for its gastronomic scene – ceviche and chocolate particularly – which you will explore via a guided street food excursion and over dinner at the capital’s finest restaurants.
  • After a flight to Iquitos, it’s all aboard the Aqua Amazon, for a four-night voyage taking in major highlights of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. Go piranha fishing, trek into the dense jungle with experienced guides in search of monkeys, three-toed sloths, hoatzins, toucans, macaws and giant water lilies.
  • Next up, Arequipa, for a two-night rail journey to Cuzco on the Andean Explorer. Breeze past shimmering Lake Titicaca and traverse the highest plains of the Andes on South America’s finest luxury sleeper train, complemented by five-star service and exquisite cuisine.
  • Over a stay in the Sacred Valley, you’ll drink in the magic of the Sol y Luna guesthouse and visit its impressive charitable foundation.
  • Hop on the Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu. This ancient wonder needs no introduction, but you’ll explore it in true c+l style with an expert historian before kicking back at Sanctuary Lodge, a stylish retreat a stone’s throw from mystical ruins.
  • Over the course of two days back in Cuzco, dive into this fabulous city under the wing of one of our superb guides, sampling sensational Nikkei cuisine, uncovering rich culture and meeting a renowned resident ceramicist for an art class.
  • Experience the beauty of the pristine Uyuni salt flats and lagoons, staying in both a glamorous Airstream camper and glass solar-powered Star Dome. Bringing stargazers closer than ever to the heavens, ‘these new for 2023 geodesic structures’ are a lesson in marrying eco-friendly design with the ultimate in comfort and luxury.
c+l special?

At your disposal in Uyuni will be both a personal chef, who will tailor dreamy menus made with local, organic produce, as well as an astrologist that will divulge the secrets of the Andean Archeoastronomy around a campfire, as you enjoy a digestif.
