  • Your final stop on our luxury African safari will be Mboko Camp, tucked away under large trees on the banks of the tranquil Likeni River. Each day at Mboko brings new adventure, as you explore the land and creatures that call it home on foot, by vehicle and by boat.

Where to stay

Nothing but the best. On this suggested Congo itinerary these are our handpicked, tried-and-tested choices.

Ngaga Camp, Brazzaville

Ngaga camp is set in the Marantaceae forest. Great care has been taken to use locally sourced materials and for the camp to blend well into its unique environment.

The camp consists of 6 uniquely designed "rooms" taking inspiration from the local Pygmy groups. Each are set on stilts with a wrap around walkway to fully appreciate your forest surrounds.

Lango Camp, Odzala-Kokoua National Park

Lango camp is set on the edge of the forest on the outskirts of the Lango Bai with access to the savannah as well as the Lekoli and Mambili rivers.

The camp has been carefully constructed to leave as light a footprint as possible in this remote and delicate forest environment. There are just 6 tents raised 4 metres above the ground. Inspiration for their design came from the local Pygmy tribes' housing. Spend your days tracking forest elephants, spotting exotic birds and cruising the river at sunset. When night falls, retreat to your eco-friendly, uniquely designed suite and let the sounds of the jungle lull you to sleep.

Mboko Camp

At the confluence of savanna, forest, and river, Mboko Lodge offers an exclusive vantage point to witness the captivating Congolese ecosystem. Here, the wilderness unfolds before you, as hyenas roam the grasslands and playful monkeys frolic in the trees.

Located in the southern reaches of Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Republic of the Congo, serves as a gateway to remarkable explorations. Nearby waterways promise enchanting beauty and rare wildlife encounters, making each day a thrilling adventure. Designed for both comfort and contemplation, Mboko's six chalets line the Likeni River, each offering screened-in porches nestled under trees or verandas serenaded by the soothing water. The camp features works by local artisans, mosquito-netted beds, writing desks, and cosy seating. En-suite bathrooms provide flush toilets and hot showers. A grand pavilion serves as the social heart of the lodge. It boasts an open deck with a fire pit, a charming shop, a well-stocked bar, and numerous inviting lounging spaces. Culinary delights take centre stage at a one-of-a-kind dining table hewn from a slab of petrified wood, providing a sumptuous setting for your meals.
