Luxury Egypt Itinerary

Discovering the Secret Side to Egypt

Thanks to its extraordinary history and culture, Egypt is one of the most remarkable travel destinations in the world.

Our Egypt itinerary takes you on Sand-covered tombs, magnificent pyramids and towering Pharaonic temples which bring out the explorer in all of us, but there are also many treasures still to be found in Egypt, if you know where to look.

Our bespoke journeys provide complete flexibility, with our expert guides knowing when and how to gain access to more famous sites at the best times to avoid crowds, as well as welcoming you into the lesser-known side of their country, such as great local eateries, best cafes or stalls in Cairo’s bazaars. You’ll be accompanied by expert local knowledge to ensure your holiday in Egypt is second to none.

This itinerary takes you to ancient sites including the Valley of the Kings in Luxor where Tutankhamun’s tomb was unearthed, time relaxing on a river cruise down the Nile between Luxor and Aswan to visit Dendara, Edfu and the other waterside temples, and across Lake Nasser to Ramses II’s masterpiece at Abu Simbel. For the adventurous, we can take you through the Sahara Desert to Siwa Oasis.

With the mighty Nile coursing through its veins, a verdurous river valley and delta, barren desert landscapes and some of the world’s most magnificent, timeworn monuments, we’ll take you through Egypt with access and comfort befitting the pharaohs.

The itinerary

Discover the Temples of Abu Simbel

The two temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel are fronted by colossal statues measuring 20 meters high and are famed as the most impressive remaining monuments of Ancient Egypt. Recently, the temples were threatened by the waters of Lake Nasser, and with the help of a UNESCO campaign they were cut into blocks, raised piece by piece, and reassembled in a new position higher up the hillside.

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization

Unveiled in 2021, and co-curated with UNESCO, the museum features over 50,000 artifacts, some of which are on display for the first time in history. Divided into sections including Pre-historic to Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic and Islamic eras, the museum also includes a section dedicated to the discovery and excavation of the Royal Mummies of Deir El-Bahari.The is truly one of Egypt’s most important and substantial historical projects.

The Great Pyramids of Giza

The last of the surviving Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, these pyramids were built approximately 4500 years ago as giant tombs. Truly monumental in scale – the largest is made up of over two million blocks – they sit guarded by the enigmatic and intimidating Sphinx. Our itinerary takes you around the pyramids, but also gets you access to the Great Pyramid’s interior.

With the most spacious cabins on the river, featuring large windows, private terraces and stunning uninterrupted views, Oberoi Philae is renowned for its dining experiences, luxury onboard facilities, and brilliantly crafted itineraries providing guests with unique insight into Egypt’s beauty and history.

Explore Siwa Oasis (Adrere Amellal) with a private guide

From The Temple of Amun, built in the 6th century BC, to Cleopatra Spring, probably the best-known bath in the area, as well as the Temple of Umm Ubaydah, and Jabal al-Mawta, home to over 700 Roman and four 26th Dynasty tombs carved into the rock face.

Sunset Sail on an Egyptian Felucca & Aswan Spice Market

Step aboard a traditional Egyptian felucca (boat) for a ride out to Kitchener’s Island, given to Lord Horatio Kitchener in the 1890s when he was commander of the Egyptian army. The island is home to the stunning Aswan Botanical Gardens, Africa’s largest botanical garden. Explore the island before sailing around the islands and visiting the Aswan Souk, a lively bazaar and the best place for locally sourced goods.
