EDITOR

About Laura

I am an editor and writer, specialising in travel, food and wildlife, particularly in Africa and Asia. Before taking on the role of Editor at cazenove+loyd, my career highlights have included my time as Managing Editor of Condé Nast Traveller India (following a stint in the London office) and Editor of Travel Africa magazine. I have always felt that only by spending a decent amount of time somewhere or, even better, living somewhere, can you really get under its skin. And so, in my twenties, I enjoyed several life-changing and enlightening experiences abroad, including volunteering in Uganda, interning in Cape Town, managing a camp in Zambia and working as a journalist in Mumbai. Over the years, my deep love of travel has led me to take every opportunity to discover new places and I have been lucky enough to explore many captivating corners of this incredible world we live in – from the vast, parched expanse of Mongolia’s Gobi Desert to the glorious, lush landscapes of Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park in the rains. The question is, where next?

Just returned from…

Morocco

I recently enjoyed an incredible 10-day journey in Morocco, taking in Oualidia, Marrakech and the High Atlas Mountains. I was captivated by every place I visited – each one so very different in its own way. A personal highlight had to be a day spent exploring the vibrant souks, Medina market stalls and restaurants with a local foodie expert who introduced me to an array of mouthwatering flavours. I would return to Morocco in a flash.

NEXT DESTINATION IS…

The Arctic

Although it seems unnatural given my love of the warmth and sunshine of the African continent, the Artic is very much on my bucket list. I’m longing to travel to the otherworldly landscapes of this wild part of the planet to witness the Northern Lights, zoom along on a husky sleigh and maybe, if I’m lucky enough, observe a polar bear or even catch a glimpse of an Arctic wolf in this wild. That would be a dream come true.
