Why visit Ho Chi Minh

Ho Chi Minh, formerly Saigon, is Vietnam’s largest city and a place of striking contrasts. Here, chaotic motorbike-filled streets weave past elegant colonial buildings, street-food stalls sit alongside high-end restaurants, and modern cafés flourish in alleys that have witnessed centuries of history. The result is a city where the past and present collide in the most exhilarating ways.

Whether you are delving into its vibrant markets, sampling world-class street food, or uncovering hidden galleries and temples, Ho Chi Minh offers experiences that are immersive, unexpected and utterly unforgettable. Every corner tells a story, making it a city that stays with you long after you leave.

Did you Know?

Ho Chi Minh City is home to over 8 million motorbikes, making it one of the busiest two-wheeled cities in the world. The motorbike culture is so ingrained that locals often navigate the streets with incredible skill, creating a moving sea of scooters that flows through the city’s bustling districts day and night.

Củ Chi Tunnels

Ho Chi Minh City lies close to the extraordinary Củ Chi Tunnels, an underground network originally dug in the late 1940s by the Việt Minh during their fight against French colonial forces.

During the Vietnam War, the tunnels were vastly expanded and used by the Viet Cong as hidden living quarters, supply routes, field hospitals and command posts. Stretching for more than 250 kilometres, the tunnels allowed guerrilla fighters to move unseen beneath the surface, their entrances cleverly concealed and ventilation systems ingeniously designed.
