Why visit Vermont

Vermont is known for its rolling hills, forests and small towns. It is particularly well known for its autumn foliage, with country roads and covered bridges drawing visitors each year. Outdoor activities include hiking, cycling, kayaking and skiing in the Green Mountains, which run the length of the state.

Towns across Vermont reflect its history and way of life. Burlington, the largest city, sits on Lake Champlain and has a working harbour, arts venues and a focus on local produce. Smaller places such as Montpelier, the sate capital, and Stowe feature historic buildings, independent shops and local markets.

OUR FAVOURITE TIME TO VISIT

Vermont is a year-round destination, with each season offering something different. Autumn (September to October) is the most popular, as forests turn shades of red, orange and gold, making it ideal for walking and driving. Summer (June to August) brings warm weather for hiking, cycling and exploring lakes and small towns. Spring (April to May) is quieter, with fewer visitors and landscapes turning green. Winter (December to February) offers snow-covered scenery and a slower pace, particularly in the mountains.
