Why visit Cape Cod

Cape Cod is known for its long, sandy beaches and relaxed pace of life. The coastline is the main draw, with the Cape Cod National Seashore offering miles of dunes, walking trails and open views. Seaside towns such as Chatham and Wellfleet add character, with harbours, historic houses and a strong maritime feel.

Food and outdoor life are central to a visit. Fresh seafood, especially lobster and oysters, is widely available, while activities such as walking, cycling and whale-watching are easy to arrange.

OUR FAVOURITE TIME TO VISIT

The best time to visit Cape Cod is late spring through early autumn (May to October). During this period, the weather is mild, the beaches are inviting, and the towns are lively with seasonal events.

Summer (June to August) brings the warmest temperatures and peak activity, while late spring and early autumn offer fewer crowds, pleasant weather, and the opportunity to enjoy the coastline and natural scenery more peacefully.

This is also the best time for whale-watching, as humpback, fin and minke whales feed in the waters around Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Peak sightings occur in June, July and August, when the waters are warmest and marine life is most abundant.
