Which destinations combine well with Entebbe?

Entebbe works brilliantly at the beginning or end of a Uganda itinerary, thanks to its proximity to Entebbe International Airport, the country’s main international gateway.

One of Uganda’s greatest highlights is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the world’s largest population of endangered mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking here is an unforgettable experience, allowing you to spend an hour observing these remarkable animals in their natural habitat.

Kibale National Park is best known for chimpanzee trekking and has one of the highest concentrations of primates in Africa. Guided forest walks offer the chance to see chimpanzees, alongside monkeys, colourful birdlife and dense tropical forest scenery.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most varied safari destination, with open savannah, volcanic craters, wetlands and the wildlife-rich Kazinga Channel. The park is known for its tree-climbing lions in Ishasha, as well as elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and large herds of antelope.

Murchison Falls National Park combines classic safari landscapes with the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile forces through a narrow gorge before plunging into the river below. Game drives and boat safaris offer excellent chances to see elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos and crocodiles.

OUR FAVOURITE TIME TO VISIT

The best time to visit Entebbe is during the dry season, from June to August and December to February.

These months are particularly good if you are combining Entebbe with wildlife experiences elsewhere in Uganda, as roads are more accessible and gorilla and chimpanzee trekking conditions are generally more comfortable.
