Good to know

How to get there

Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok is a 45-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport or 40 minutes from Don Mueang Airport. For those arriving by private jet, we can arrange luxury car transfers from either airport. Helicopter charters are possible to central helipads, followed by a short drive. The hotel also offers private boat transfers along the river for a scenic arrival.

Are children welcome?

Yes, children are warmly welcomed. The hotel provides interconnecting rooms, child-friendly menus, babysitting services, and curated activities such as Thai cooking classes and cultural tours tailored for younger guests.

Giving back

The hotel supports the Bangkok-based Rajvithi Home for Girls, providing education and vocational training for underprivileged young women. Sustainability efforts include a comprehensive recycling programme, elimination of single-use plastics, and a water treatment facility. The hotel also prioritises local sourcing, with Thai artisanal goods featured in its boutiques and spa.

What is nearby?

Located in Bangkok’s historic Bang Rak district, the hotel is a short boat ride from the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and Wat Pho. The creative neighbourhood of Charoenkrung, filled with art galleries, street food, and boutique shops, is just a stroll away. Iconsiam and the high-end boutiques of Siam Paragon are within a 15-minute drive. For a deeper dive into local life, the bustling Talad Noi and Chinatown are also close by.

Why we love Mandarin Oriental

The hotel’s riverside pool is one of our favourite places to unwind—surprisingly peaceful for the centre of Bangkok. It’s the contrast we love: stepping from the energy of the city into the hotel’s calm, jasmine-scented world, where nothing is ever too much trouble.
