About Wilder

Wilder McNutt
Wilder McNutt

Born and raised in a remote wildlife research camp in Botswana, I was immersed in nature from the very start. With my father studying African Wild Dogs and my mother running a conservation education program, the bush was both my classroom and my backyard. My upbringing gave me a deep appreciation for the wild places of Africa and the people who protect them. After finishing school in South Africa, I moved to North America, studying science at McGill University and travelling extensively across North America. Along the way, I’ve worked in conservation, hospitality, and community outreach, always drawn to roles that foster connection—between people, wildlife, and new experiences. Now, I’m excited to take the next step in my journey, channelling my passion and knowledge into a career that shares the magic of Africa with others.

Lamu, Kenya
Just returned from…

Lamu

My trip to Lamu, off the Kenyan coast, last May was unforgettable. I spent ten days exploring the winding streets of Lamu Town, sailing on dhows at sunset, and swimming off Shela Beach. The island’s relaxed pace was a refreshing change, with time spent sipping spiced coffee and discovering its rich history. I also had the privilege of working with the Lamu Marine Conservation Project, gaining insight into their vital efforts to educate their youth. Between the rich culture, stunning coastline, and incredible people, it was an experience I’ll always cherish.

From the vast plains of the Serengeti to the pristine beaches of Zanzibar, it offers one of the most incredible safari experiences out there. This trip is sure to be an adventure filled with breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, and unforgettable moments.
