Getting to the Arusha

By Air: The most common way to reach Arusha is by flying into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), located about 50 kilometres from the city. There are direct flights from major cities like Nairobi, Amsterdam, and Istanbul. Airlines such as KLM, Qatar Airways, and Turkish Airlines offer regular flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

By Road: Arusha is well-connected by road to other major cities in Tanzania. The A-23 highway links Arusha to Moshi and the A-104 connects it to Nairobi, Kenya. Long-distance buses, like those operated by Dar Express and Kilimanjaro Express, provide comfortable and affordable travel options.

By Train: Arusha is accessible by train via the Tanzania Railways Limited (TRL) network, which connects the city to Dar es Salaam and other regions. The scenic route offers a unique travel experience through Tanzania’s diverse landscapes.

The best time to visit Arusha is during the dry season, which spans from June to October. During these months, the weather is cooler and drier, with temperatures ranging from 15-25°C (59-77°F) and lower humidity, making it ideal for safaris and outdoor activities.
