  • E-biking adventures: Exploring the region by e-bike allows you to cover a large distance without breaking too much of a sweat or the need for a vehicle. There are some incredible trails to discover in this region (must be booked in advance).
  • Engaresero Hominid Footprints: Just a short drive away are the world-renowned hominid footprints — some of the best-preserved ancient footprints in the world, estimated to be 5,000–19,000 years old.

  • Authentic Cultural Experiences: The camp partners closely with the local Maasai community, offering insight into traditional life through storytelling, dancing, and optional visits to a Maasai boma.

  • Eco-Friendly Design: Lake Natron Camp operates entirely off-grid, with solar-powered electricity, low-impact architecture, and community-led sustainability initiatives to protect the delicate ecosystem.

How to get there

The nearest airstrip is Lake Natron Airstrip (approx. 5 km). Arusha Airport is the main international access point, roughly a 6–8 hour drive depending on road conditions.

Yes, children are welcome at Lake Natron Camp. The camp offers family-friendly accommodation and activities such as nature walks, swimming, and cultural interaction tailored to young explorers.

It runs entirely on solar energy, minimizes plastic use, sources ingredients locally, and collaborates with the community on conservation and tourism projects. It also supports local employment and education while helping protect flamingo breeding grounds through careful water and waste management.
