How to get there

Wilpattu National Park is a four-hour drive from Colombo, making it accessible via private transfer. For a quicker journey, domestic charter flights can be arranged to the nearby Anuradhapura Airport, followed by a one-hour drive to camp.

Spotted deer and water buffalo are common, grazing in open areas and cooling off in the park’s many lakes. Mugger crocodiles can be seen basking along the water’s edge, and the park is a haven for birdlife, with species such as painted storks, eagles, Sri Lankan junglefowl, and spoonbills thriving around Wilpattu’s natural lakes.
