Children aged 10 and older are welcome at Singita Boulders Lodge. Giving back

Singita Boulders Lodge is part of Singita’s long-term conservation and community model in the Sabi Sand, delivered through the Singita Lowveld Trust.

Singita supports biodiversity conservation across the reserve. This includes protecting habitats, managing rivers and land, and monitoring key species such as rhino, leopard, lion, wild dog and vultures. Anti-poaching teams work on the ground every day to protect wildlife and maintain the balance of the ecosystem.

Specialist ranger teams are supported by K9 units and modern tracking tools. These include camera traps, field technology and surveillance systems that help detect threats early and improve wildlife protection.

Singita also works closely with neighbouring communities. Projects focus on education, skills development and local enterprise. These include early childhood learning, training programmes and support for small businesses linked to the tourism supply chain.

Community partnerships are designed to create long-term benefit. Local communities are supported to build livelihoods that work alongside conservation, so that people and wildlife can thrive together in shared landscapes.

Sustainability runs through all operations at Boulders. This includes responsible resource use, low-impact lodge design and long-term partnerships that aim to protect the land for future generations

What wildlife can you expect to see?

Big Five: A stay at Singita Boulders Lodge offers consistent sightings of the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. The Sabi Sand is especially well known for close leopard encounters, often seen resting in trees or moving through the riverine bush.

River Wildlife: The Sand River attracts a wide range of game throughout the year. Elephant and buffalo are frequently seen moving along its banks, while hippo and crocodile are often found in deeper pools and slow-moving sections of water.

Plains Game and Predators: Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and antelope species such as impala and kudu are commonly seen. These support a healthy predator population, including lion, hyena and the occasional wild dog moving through the reserve.

Smaller Mammals: Guests may also spot smaller and more elusive species such as vervet monkeys, baboons, mongoose, genet and serval, particularly during early morning or late afternoon drives.

Birdlife: The area is rich in birdlife, with species such as fish eagle, hornbills, kingfishers and lilac-breasted rollers regularly seen. Seasonal changes bring different migratory species, making every safari slightly different throughout the year.
