Seeing the southern right whales in South Africa

Whilst visiting South Africa with Henrietta Loyd, Founder+Director of cazenove+loyd, we had the most wonderful experience while staying at the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve seeing thee magnificent Southern Right Whales, many with their feeding calves. Going out in the early morning by boat and coming into such close contact with these cavorting and inquisitive mammals was totally awe inspiring.

Their sheer size has to be seen to be believed. The following day this unforgettable morning was topped by being flown in a Cessna over the whales seeing their interaction with their calves, some even feeding.

It was truly fantastic and certainly put into perspective their massive size. A lifetime experience in South Africa to be highly recommended.
