On your arrival at Iquitos, you will be met by a meet and greet service, and embark on an exclusive transfer from Iquitos-Nauta-Iquitos.

Are children welcome?

Pure Amazon welcomes children aged six and over.  Voyages are designed to appeal to all generations, with exciting wildlife and unique cultural experiences that engage children, and create memories that will last forever.

Children aged 17 years and younger are required to share their cabin with an adult.

Giving back

Pure Amazon is part of a non profit network that now operates in 24 countries across all seven continents. It has positively impacted hundreds of thousands of lives and helps protect some of the world’s most precious ecosystems.

Its initiatives focus on education, enterprise, health and the environment. The aim is to support and empower local communities, helping them safeguard their surroundings while ensuring that the people in the places we travel also benefit directly from tourism.

Guests on Pure Amazon can learn about local life on a visit to Formabiap, an indigenous-led teacher training initiative in the Zungaorocha Educational Community near Iquitos. More than 200 students take part in the programme, which strengthens indigenous Amazonian communities by preserving their culture, traditions and language.

On Tipishca Lake, accessed via the Marañón River, the 230-strong Nueva Arica community is home to the indigenous Kukama Kukamiria people. Guests can see how life here is closely connected to the surrounding nature. The majestic lupuna tree is often regarded as sacred, while colourful parrots and tanagers are frequent sights.

Why we love Pure Amazon

We love how intimate Pure Amazon is, carrying a maximum of 22 guests, meaning everything is very personalised, and expert guides are on hand throughout the day to share their  knowledge! A real highlight is the excursions, it is particularly interesting visiting the riverside communities, it gives such a vivid insight into the way of life of the Amazon Basin’s ribereños.
