Highlights

  • Architecture & Design – An award-winning, low-profile timber and bluestone lodge designed to mimic the valley’s contours, with floor-to-ceiling glass that blurs the boundary between indoors and the wild landscape.
  • Accommodation – Five luxury lodge suites and three futuristic mirrored “pods”—each with private indoor/outdoor seating, panoramic views, fireplaces, and top-tier linens and amenities.
  • Dining & Beverage – Exceptional on-site dining featuring locally sourced and estate-grown food; multi-course dinners, pre-dinner drinks, and afternoon tea are included; bar features extensive NZ wines and a billiard room. A private dining experience in the wilderness is available, where guests can arrive on horseback and enjoy a three-course BBQ prepared
  • Activities – The Lindis offers some amazing experiences, including world-class fly-fishing on the Ahuriri River, guided treks on horseback, mountain biking, hiking, 4×4 tours, gliding, heli-skiing, and self-guided exploration of the valley and conservation parks.
  • Stargazing & Night Skies – Located adjacent to the Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, with near-zero light pollution—ideal for planetarium-quality viewing from the pods or outdoor decks.
  • Luxury meets Wilderness – Combines outdoor adventure with refined comfort—fireplaces in suites, hot tubs in pods, elegant furnishings, and attentive hospitality.

Good to know

How do we get there?

It can be arranged for a driver to take guests to The Lindis Lodge from Queenstown, which is approximately a two and a half hour drive away.  It is also possible for guests to arrive in a private helicopter.

Are children welcome?

The Lindis welcomes children aged 12 and over but does not accommodate younger children due to its remote, rugged location.

Giving back

The Lindis is built with sustainability in mind, using eco-conscious materials, solar power, rainwater harvesting, and a ground-source heat pump. It blends into the landscape with minimal impact and supports local conservation and sustainable farming on its surrounding land.

What's nearby?

Nearby highlights include the Lindis Pass Lookout, Ahuriri River (great for fishing), and the unique Clay Cliffs near Omarama. The charming villages of Tarras (with its famous sheep memorial) and Omarama (known for hot tubs and gliding) are just 30 minutes away, while Wānaka (1 hour 30 minutes) and Cromwell (1 hour) provide wineries, lakeside hikes, and historic charm.

Why we love The Lindis

We particularly love the 12 gorgeous horses who live at the Lindis stables, and riding along the Ben Avon Dam. It’s truly amazing experiencing the views of the Ahuriri Valley on horseback.
