Good to know

How to get there?

Huka Lodge is easily accessible via a short domestic flight from Auckland or Wellington to Taupō Airport, followed by a 15-minute journey by car. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a scenic self-drive that takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes from Auckland or 1 hour from Rotorua. Helicopter transfers can also be arranged to take guests directly to the lodge’s private lawn from major cities across the North Island.

Are children welcome?

Huka Lodge welcomes children aged ten years old and over.

Giving back

In 2019, Huka Lodge launched a project to secure sustainable Waikato water. They invested in a monitoring and purification system, using UV, activated carbon, and osmosis, to ensure spring-quality water for the restaurant, and installed a modern wastewater plant, whose output irrigates the gardens.

The property also adopts a holistic approach to sustainability, reducing single-use plastics, sourcing organic and sustainably produced food, using chemical-free pest control, and designing gardens to support wildlife. Electronic vehicle charging stations are in place at the lodge, and energy is saved with the use of LED light bulbs.

Huka Lodge recruits its team members from the local community, and supports local businesses when sourcing food, wine and services. The lodge also supports charitable initiatives, contributing to fundraising events for schools and local organizations, and hosts an annual Christmas party for elderly residents, bringing joy and connection to the wider community.

What's included?

A stay at Huka Lodge includes a very generous all‑inclusive package: full country breakfast, pre‑dinner drinks and canapés, and a gourmet four- or five-course dinner with a daily changing menu. Guests also benefit from unlimited use of all lodge facilities (such as the pool, hot tubs, spa, tennis courts, croquet lawn and gym), complimentary in-suite bar provisions, and free Wi‑Fi.

Guests also have an array of wonderful experiences on their doorstep, including a private guided tour of Craggy Range winery, zip lining at Kaituna Gorge, white water rafting, full day helicopter tours, fly fishing, lake cruising and kayaking.

Why we love Huka Lodge

We love Huka Lodge because while many lodges give you incredible vistas of the scenery, Huka puts you right in the middle of it!
