Giving back

Sustainability is at the heart of La Sultana Oualidia, with a strong emphasis on protecting the surrounding lagoon, supporting local communities and minimising its environmental impact.

  • Water conservation – An advanced water treatment and recycling system allows treated grey water and wastewater to be reused for irrigating the hotel’s gardens, significantly reducing freshwater consumption.

  • Local and organic produce – Fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown in the hotel’s own organic gardens, while seafood and other ingredients are sourced from local fishermen and producers wherever possible.
  • Reducing waste – Single-use plastics have been largely eliminated, waste is carefully sorted for recycling and drinking water is filtered and bottled on site in reusable glass bottles.
  • Supporting local communities – The hotel prioritises local employment, works with Moroccan artisans and supports charitable and conservation initiatives that benefit both the local community and the wider region.

Why we love La Sultana Oualidia

This is a wonderful authentically Moroccan place to stay, somehow it doesn’t feel like purpose built property, it just feels like it belongs in this stunning location and much of that is down to the wonderful staff who all clearly love being there.
