Good to know

How to get there

Triple Creek Ranch is best reached via Missoula International Airport, around 1.5 to 2 hours away by road through the Bitterroot Valley. Private transfers can be arranged, or self-drive is straightforward via Highway 93 to Darby, then West Fork Road. For those arriving by private aircraft, Ravalli County Airport in Hamilton is closer, at around 45 minutes. Helicopter transfers are possible and can be arranged in advance, offering a direct and efficient arrival into the ranch’s private helipad.

Are children welcome?

Triple Creek is designed for adults and children under 16 are not permitted unless the entire ranch is booked on a private basis.

In reality, Triple Creek is best suited to couples or families with older teenagers rather than those travelling with younger children.

Giving back

Triple Creek Ranch takes a hands-on, land-led approach rather than a formal sustainability framework.

  • Conservation focus: Large areas of land are protected as wildlife habitat, with ongoing work in reforestation, stream restoration and careful land management
  • Wildlife protection: Low-impact fencing and limited development support biodiversity and maintain natural migration patterns
  • Environmental practices: Refillable amenities, soap recycling, reduced single-use plastics and environmentally conscious cleaning products
  • Resource management: Energy-efficient lighting, water-saving measures and guest participation in linen and towel reuse
  • Food sourcing: Ingredients partly sourced from on-site gardens, orchards and apiaries, supporting a low-mile approach
  • Long-term vision: Continued efforts to return previously developed land to a more natural state, reinforcing a broader conservation ethos

Summer or Winter

Summer centres on time outdoors, with fly fishing, horse riding, hiking and open meadow landscapes defining the experience, along with warmer evenings and a more active pace. Winter shifts the focus to snow-covered scenery and a quieter rhythm, with activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sleigh rides. Cabins feel more cocooned, with fireplaces and hot tubs coming into their own, while the overall atmosphere becomes more intimate and secluded compared to the broader, more expansive feel of summer.

Why we love Triple Creek Ranch

Triple Creek Ranch sits within a vast privately protected landscape of over 25,000 acres, much of which is set aside for conservation rather than development. The owners have actively acquired neighbouring land not to expand the hotel, but to return it to a more natural state, making the guest experience as much about space and preservation as it is about comfort.
