Highlights

  • Design by Ambrosi Etchegaray: A striking blend of minimalist architecture and historic detail, set within a restored 19th-century building in the heart of Mexico City’s Centro Histórico.

  • Rooftop Pool & Views: The rooftop offers sweeping views of the Metropolitan Cathedral and Templo Mayor, alongside a small pool and curated open-air dining.

  • Casa Tepoztlán-Inspired Rooms: Guest rooms are beautifully spare, with polished concrete, warm wood, and Japanese-style soaking tubs in many – a calming retreat above the city.

  • Cultural Collaborations: The hotel shares its space with a rotating selection of Mexico’s most interesting designers, artisans and makers, from fashion to ceramics.

  • Onsite ONA Restaurant: A stylish open-kitchen concept led by chef Jazmín Garibay, serving seasonal dishes that celebrate local produce and contemporary Mexican cuisine.

  • Unbeatable Location: Just steps from key landmarks including the Zócalo, Palacio de Bellas Artes and Templo Mayor – ideal for exploring the historic centre on foot.

Good to know

How to get there

Círculo Mexicano is approximately 8km from Mexico City International Airport (Benito Juárez International Airport) a journey that can take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic.

Are children welcome?

Círculo Mexicano has a more minimalist, design-led atmosphere that caters primarily to adults, creatives and design-conscious travellers. While children are not strictly prohibited, the hotel is not especially geared towards families – there are no specific amenities for children such as family rooms, kids’ menus or play areas.

That said, older children and teens with an interest in culture, history and architecture may appreciate the experience, especially given the hotel’s location in Mexico City’s historic centre.

For younger families, a more family-focused property may be a better fit.

What's nearby?

  • Templo Mayor (2-minute walk): The ruins of the Aztec empire’s main temple, right next to the hotel. An extraordinary archaeological site with a museum exploring Mexica history.

  • Zócalo (3-minute walk): One of the largest public squares in the world, surrounded by grand colonial buildings. A focal point of national life, festivals and political gatherings.

  • Metropolitan Cathedral (3-minute walk): The largest cathedral in Latin America, built over two centuries with Baroque, Neoclassical and Gothic influences. Free to enter, and awe-inspiring inside.

  • Palacio Nacional (5-minute walk): Home to Diego Rivera’s famous murals depicting the history of Mexico, and the seat of the federal executive. Entry is free with ID.

  • Palacio de Bellas Artes (15-minute walk): Mexico City’s grand cultural centre, known for its Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture and world-class exhibitions, music and dance performances.

  • Alameda Central (15-minute walk): A leafy, historic park perfect for a midday pause or people-watching en route to museums or cafés.

Why we love Circulo Mexicano

The design aspect of this property is plain to see, however, it is the location that we love. You’re just a short walk from some of the best bits of Mexico City.
