Good to know

How do we get there?

Miavana is reached by a scheduled flight from Antananarivo to Diego Suarez, followed by a scenic helicopter flight of around one hour to Nosy Ankao, delivering sweeping views of reefs, islands and forested coastline en route.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Miavana welcomes children, particularly those with a sense of adventure. The island’s wildlife encounters, beaches and tailored activities suit curious young travellers, though the experience is best for families comfortable with a remote, nature-led setting rather than structured children’s programmes.

Giving back

Miavana places conservation at the heart of everything it does. Operating within a protected marine and terrestrial reserve, the lodge actively supports research and protection of lemurs, sea turtles, coral reefs and migratory whales. It works closely with local communities through employment, training and education initiatives, while renewable energy, careful water management and low-impact design ensure the island remains as pristine as it was found.

Why we love Miavana

Idyllic, exclusive, untouched and undoubtedly Madagascan, this is a remote luxury at its best. But what really makes it special is how integrated into the local community the hotel is making any stay incredibly special.
