Highlights

  • Remote peninsula setting – Set on a private headland along Madagascar’s north-west coast, Anjajavy feels wonderfully cut off, with beaches, coves and forest all to itself.

  • Private villas – Freestanding villas are scattered along the shoreline and within gardens, offering generous space, sea views and a relaxed, barefoot sense of privacy.

  • Exceptional wildlife – Lemurs wander freely through the grounds, chameleons hide in the undergrowth, and snorkelling straight offshore reveals colourful coral and fish.

  • All-inclusive ease – Meals, activities and guiding are included, creating an unhurried rhythm where days unfold naturally rather than to a schedule.

  • Natural design – Architecture blends seamlessly into the landscape, using local materials and open-air spaces that invite in sea breezes and birdsong.

  • Conservation-led ethos – A long-standing commitment to protecting surrounding marine and forest ecosystems underpins every stay at Anjajavy, without feeling didactic.

Good to know

How do we get there?

Anjajavy is reached via a scheduled flight from Antananarivo to Mahajanga, followed by a scenic light-aircraft flight of around one hour directly to Anjajavy’s private airstrip. The journey is part of the experience, offering aerial views of coastline, forests and salt flats en route.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Anjajavy welcomes children, and its wildlife-rich setting, safe beaches and guided activities make it particularly rewarding for curious young travellers, though the relaxed, nature-led atmosphere suits families comfortable without structured children’s programmes.

Giving back

Anjajavy has sustainability woven deeply into its foundations. The lodge sits within a private nature reserve, actively protecting dry forest, mangroves and marine ecosystems. It employs and trains local communities, supports education and healthcare projects, and runs extensive conservation programmes focused on lemurs, turtles and coral reefs. Operations are intentionally low-impact, with careful water management, solar energy use and architecture designed to blend quietly into the landscape rather than dominate it.

Why we love Anjajavy

This is undeniably an idyllic setting, yet you are never allowed to forget you are in Madagascar, with lemurs padding past at breakfast; a gentle, joyful reminder of exactly where you are.
