JUMP TO
Wickliffe Odera

Wickliffe Odera is a Kenyan safari guide whose work is rooted in a deep enthusiasm for nature, conservation and sustainable tourism. Raised in western Kenya, he developed an early fascination with birds and biodiversity, interests that continue to shape his guiding today.

He trained at Kenya Utalii College before furthering his professional qualifications with EcoTraining in South Africa, where he completed his FGASA Field Guide and Trails Guide training. This foundation has allowed him to guide across a range of landscapes, leading small groups of travellers on carefully planned safaris and mobile camp journeys in remote wilderness areas.

Wickliffe’s knowledge and calm presence in the field have also made him a trusted collaborator for documentary filmmakers. He has worked with production teams from major international broadcasters including the BBC, National Geographic and Disney, helping bring stories of Africa’s wildlife and landscapes to global audiences.

During the Covid-19 pandemic he remained closely connected to the guiding community by hosting virtual safaris for the Kenya Tourism Board’s #MagicalKenyaLive campaign, sharing Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes with viewers around the world.

Based in Kenya, Wickliffe guides across East and Southern Africa. He speaks both English and French.
