From colonial churches and public art to the legacy of Pinochet and the city’s thriving culinary scene, the experience offers a far more nuanced introduction to modern Chile.
Further south in Patagonia, the focus turns towards wildlife, conservation and vast landscapes. Private puma tracking in Torres del Paine, time with conservation researchers and stays at working estancias create a deeper understanding of this remote region beyond the classic viewpoints.
The journey then continues north into the Atacama Desert, where volcanoes, astronomy, archaeology and indigenous culture combine in one of the world’s most dramatic environments. With private excursions throughout, this is Chile experienced with greater freedom, authenticity and depth than most traditional lodge-based itineraries.

Discover Santiago through its layered history, from the colonial Plaza de Armas and San Francisco Church to the artistic energy of the GAM cultural centre. Travel between neighbourhoods by vehicle and metro, discovering public art installations and contemporary Chilean culture along the way.
We can tailor the experience around your interests, whether visiting museums, exploring local food markets or spending more time in the city’s creative districts. Finish the day with panoramic views from Gran Torre Santiago, South America’s tallest skyscraper, before reflecting on Chile’s recent history at the Museum of Memory and Human Rights.

Discover Patagonian cooking with a fabulous chef in his own home. The evening may include local seafood, Patagonian lamb or even guanaco stew, and definitely some of Chile’s best wines. It’s a relaxed event with stories about life in Patagonia from people who have hiked every trail and climbed every mountain.
You will be joined by your puma tracker for the following day so that you can learn about these incredible cats, hear stories about sightings, and know what to expect and how to prepare for the next adventure. You’ll end the night with new friends and an insight into life at the bottom of the world.

Spend a day with the top puma trackers in Patagonia searching for the elusive cats. With two vehicles, high-powered spotting scopes and decades of knowledge and experience on tap, your chances of a sighting are as high as they can be.
During your time in Torres del Paine, you can also visit a puma conservation project to learn how attitudes to the big cats have changed and how they are being protected by sheep dogs.

Discover this incredible National Park with your own guide exploring it any way you like. If you’re feeling active, you may take on one of the magnificent treks, or you may want to focus on landscape photography or spotting specific birdlife.
Perhaps you will sail on Lago Grey with magnificent views of the glacier and mountains, or visit an estancia. The day is yours to make the most of this unbelievable part of the world.

The altitude, clear skies and lack of light pollution make the Atacama one of the best places on earth to see the night sky. You will do this in private with not only an astrophysicist, but also an astrophotographer. Heading out to a quiet spot in the desert just before the moon sets, you will learn about white giants, black holes and the sheer scale of the heavens, as well as hearing indigenous beliefs.
At the same time, you can practice your photography skills, whether you shoot on a smartphone or a top-end camera.

While almost everyone else visiting the Atacama will visit Moon Valley, we will take you somewhere equally spectacular but far less visited. Vallecito lies just to the south and is home to the same spectacular geological features.
]With your private guide, you will learn how these were formed, understand the impact of even the smallest rainfall, and end the day with sundowners with the best views.

Set out early one morning with your guide and drive up into the high Andes for breakfast at 4,500m above sea level. This is a beautiful journey across the Altiplano, surrounded by volcanoes, reflective lagoons, vicunas, flamingos, and a fascinating human history. It’s an early start, but a day that you will never forget.

Producing crops in the driest desert is nothing short of a challenge. Today, you will meet a couple who have taken this on with the aim of rediscovering foods that benefit life at altitude. A young doctor and chef are the hosts who will introduce you to their crops and then serve you a meal in their own home.
This is a new enterprise and a fabulous way of learning about both the food of the region, but also what modern life here is all about.

Wine and the Atacama may not be two things that instantly spring to mind. Yet, there is a growing industry here that is starting to produce some fascinating results. Near the small town of Toconao is a vineyard like no other. With water so scarce, any irrigated land is hugely precious, and this, at first glance, looks more like an abandoned garden from a book by CS Lewis.
It is, in fact, a carefully managed orchard with pomegranate, quince, oranges and more mixed in and around vines that produce wines of ever-increasing quality. With a private tasting you will learn all about it.

The Central Valleys of Chile mark the point at which two mountain ranges meet, creating some of the best wine and fruit-producing land on the planet. Rolling hills, snow-capped mountains and valley floors with immaculately kept vines are its signature.
You’ll stay at one of the very best vineyards with some time to enjoy a tasting, take a cooking class or ride among the vines, and take in everything that you’ve seen along the way on this incredible journey through Chile’s extremes.
