Luxury Argentina Itinerary

The Essence of Argentina

The vast expanse of Argentina holds an incredible range of scenery buttressed on one side by the Andes and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. It truly is a country that has everything from rainforests and high-altitude salt flats to vast deserts and towering peaks.

This 14-day itinerary is designed to showcase the essence of this incredible country, you’ll find desert, mountains, jungle, vast steppes and brilliant blue glaciers. And of course, the “Paris of South America”, Buenos Aires and its strong European influences can keep you enthralled for days, and nights.

Starting in Iguazu gets the journey off to a spectacular sight as you explore one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls.  At this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will find anywhere between 150 and 300 separate falls that are higher than Niagara and spread over twice the width. The cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires is the next stop, here you can take in a tango show, or even have a lesson, explore the colourful streets of La Boca, visit incredible galleries and take in the beautiful architecture, or simply relax in a café and watch the world go by.

Travelling south the ice of Patagonia beckons in the form of the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the fastest advancing ice fields on the planet. Chunks of ice the size of houses regularly crash spectacularly from its face with a unique sound that lives long in the memory. After exploring one of the most remote and historic estancias in Patagonia you’ll head north to the Lake District. Spend your time surrounded by snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear lakes and rolling green hills that can abruptly give way to cactus-covered deserts.

The journey ends in the most Argentine way imaginable; on an estancia near Buenos Aires where you’ll have the chance to ride with gauchos during the day before feasting on the best lamb you’ve ever had.

The mighty Iguazu Falls

How best to experience the Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls, straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, is a natural wonder of unparalleled beauty. Its 275 waterfalls cascade over cliffs, creating a thunderous roar and a misty spectacle that can be seen and heard from miles away. The surrounding rainforest teems with diverse wildlife, from colourful toucans to playful coatis. One of the largest waterfall systems on Earth, Iguazu Falls is a UNESCO World Heritage site, captivating you with its awe-inspiring power and natural splendour.

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, the vibrant capital of Argentina, is a city of contrasts and culture. Known as the “Paris of South America,” it boasts elegant boulevards, European-style architecture, and a rich history. From the tango-filled streets of La Boca to the grandeur of Recoleta Cemetery, the city offers a diverse range of experiences. Its cultural scene thrives with theatres, art galleries, and bustling cafes where locals sip on mate. Buenos Aires is a captivating city to explore, or simple sit and people-watch with a coffee and empanada.

Explore the Perito Moreno Glacier

Set off for Los Glaciares National Park with a private guide for a glimpse of the first breathtaking views of the Moreno Glacier with the imposing Andean Mountains as a backdrop. As spectacular as this first entrance may be, it pales compared to a close approach where the constant sounds of this “living” glacier shake the air. Gigantic blocks of ice frequently break away and crash into the lake, spraying hundreds of feet into the air and sounding like distant artillery fire. The startling contrast of colour, sound, motion and size creates a continuously changing mosaic of indescribable beauty.
