Good to know

How do we get there?

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan is located very close to Ubud a central cultural town in Bali. The closest international airport is Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). From here, the drive to the resort is approximately an hour and 15 minutes.

Are children welcome?

Children are warmly welcomed at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan. The complimentary kids’ club, Pici Pici, which translates to ‘little snail’ in Balinese, offers an array of creative programmes and activities for children aged four to 12.

The resort provides a wide range of children’s amenities, including children’s pools, cribs or rollaway beds, sports and adventure games, babysitting services, Balinese dance classes, and children’s menus available at all restaurants.

Giving back

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan is committed to protecting the environment and supporting the local community. Its programs include energy, water and waste reduction, elimination of single-use plastics, on-site water purification, and recycling. Guests can use bicycles, stay in energy-efficient rooms, and enjoy water-wise landscaping. They can also take part in permaculture gardening, Farm-to-Glass mixology classes, and mangrove tree planting, all designed to have a lasting positive impact.

The resort also supports biodiversity and community initiatives. Staff and guests join river clean ups, and extra food, linens, furniture, and medical supplies are donated to local charities. Cultural experiences include traditional dance, music, cooking classes, and immersive tours such as “A Day in the Life of a Balinese Rice Farmer.” Sustainable sourcing supports local craftspeople and provides responsibly sourced food, vegan and vegetarian options, and locally made spa and retail products.

What's nearby?

Located near the cultural city of Ubud, the resort is well placed for a wide range of cultural and outdoor experiences. Guests can join the Four Seasons Private Rafting Discovery on the Ayung River, drifting through jungle and rice-farming villages before returning to the resort.

Cycling routes such as the Bongkasa Village Biking Adventure and Kintamani Biking Adventure pass through valleys, temples and paddy fields. The Sokasi Cooking School offers a market visit with the chef, foraging in the gardens, and hands-on Balinese cooking.

Wellness and culture are equally close at hand. Dharma Shanti yoga and meditation sessions take place in bamboo pavilions overlooking the valley, with classes ranging from gentle Hatha to chakra-focused practices. Guests can also join A Day in the Life of a Balinese Farmer, planting rice and sharing a traditional lunch. Beyond the resort, explore the Ubud Monkey Forest, the ancient temples of Gunung Kawi, and Ubud’s galleries and artisan villages.

Why we love Four Seasons Bali at Sayan

The resort is in a magical setting above the Ayung River and feels like a secluded sanctuary, with its dramatic rice-bowl architecture! It is the perfect place to stay when visiting some of the lesser-known local sites and hidden places, which offer a far more personal experience than the busier attractions.
