Spiritual Enlightenment in the Kingdom of Bhutan
Join us on a journey of rediscovery in the Kingdom of Bhutan, a magical land that has only recently opened to foreign visitors once again. We are crafting a Bhutan small group tour itinerary that will showcase some of our favourite places in Bhutan, as well as rarely visited corners of this spectacular country – picture sweeping valleys and stark cliffs, peaceful temples and paddy fields, monks and farmers, big skies and pristine air.
We will be exploring Bhutan through a wellness lens but digging much deeper than relaxing in some of the best spas in Asia. This luxury small group travel experience includes morning prayers and breakfast with monks, time to design personalised prayer flags, printed with your own hopes and dreams, and even the opportunity to sleep in a monk’s cell – an unusual contrast from the luxury hotels included elsewhere.
On this Bhutan small group tour, you will spend time immersed in nature. There will be stunning day hikes through the Haa and Tromso valleys, with mountain biking an option if you’re feeling active, followed by traditional hot stone baths overlooking paddy fields. Archery lessons will be arranged, plus time for alfresco meditation overlooking glorious mountain views.
Food will also play a central role in our luxury Bhutan small group tour. In a land where pesticides are banned, all local produce is by default organic, which allows intense, natural flavours to sing in every mouthful. A local chef will teach you how to make the most of Bhutan’s incredible ingredients.
In this unique and beautiful itinerary, we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that you discover as much of the country (and yourself) as possible – an exclusive meeting with the King is very much on the agenda, as well as a final farewell blessing. If you’re looking for exclusive access to the places and people that make Bhutan so enchanting, reserve your place today on our Bhutan small group tour travelling in October 2023.
What makes this trip spectacular?
Bhutan Small Group Tour Highlights

A meeting with the King of Bhutan
The opportunity of a lifetime to dine in the company of the King of Bhutan. Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck is the fifth Monarch of Bhutan, coronated in 2008, also marking 100 years of the monarchy in Bhutan. His first landmark project was the launch of the National Cadastral Resurvey in 2011 which focused on enhancing the living standards of people in remote areas. The same year the King married Jetsu Pema – the largest media event in Bhutan’s history, ever since, they have travelled the globe raising Bhutan’s profile as a sovereign country. You’ll share an extravagant dinner with the Bhutan’s most respected King – a true once in a lifetime experience awaits.

Morning prayers with monks at Chorten Nibu
Often considered a remote country, Bhutan is on the path less visited – best of all, within a remote country are remote places still waiting to be discovered. This is Chorten Nibu. One of the most sacred places in the world, you’ll find yourself wondering how a place so peaceful and serene can still exist. Monks are scattered across Chorton Nibu in maroon robes which dot over the grass of the courtyard. The monks will welcome you with gracious smiles and warm hugs as you join them in their morning prayers – an extraordinary opportunity which very few people in the pace of modern life will ever experience.

Discover + experience local festivals in hidden villages
An exclusive opportunity to join Bhutan in their magnificent festivals including the Jambay Lhakhang Drup which takes place within Bumthang Valley – Bhutan’s spiritual heartland. The Tsechus (festivals) are the best way to experience Bhutan’s festive atmosphere and rich pageantry as well as the ancient living culture which makes Bhutan such a unique and wonderful country. The Tsechu’s take place in honour of Guru Rimpoche, who is the saint who historically bought Buddahism to Bhutan. The Kingdom of Bhutan invites you to join them in festivity, celebration and faith in the form of spectacular masked dances and monumental celebrations.
