I have just returned from...
Buenos Aires
.. immersing myself in familiar barrios and rediscovering the city I once called home. Walking down its tree–lined boulevards, exploring new sights and witnessing forgotten buildings now restored back to their former glory was a joy. The trip reminded me of all this vibrant city has to offer, with its sensational food culture, tango traditions and cosmopolitan lifestyle; I also gained a new perspective by exploring the northern suburbs, adjacent to the Río de la Plata. But what is a trip to Buenos Aires without seeing what else Argentina has to offer? Rich in magnificent natural landscapes that range from sub-tropical jungle in the north to ice caps in the frozen south, there’s something for everyone in this vast country, where a warm welcome is always guaranteed.
My next destination is...
Brazil
I’d love to go back to Brazil to explore the Pantanal and Cerrado regions, both unique biomes with amazing wildlife – spotting an elusive jaguar or a maned wolf, two species that have now been successfully reintroduced to the wild, would be incredible. Pousada Caiman, a lodge in the Pantanal, has been on my bucket list for some time; I like its conservation-focused approach and would love to spend time tracking big cats with the Oncafari Jaguar Project, an African safari-style experience.
