How to get there

Adrere Amellal, is a long drive from Cairo. The full journey is around 750km and can take up to ten hours as in many regions the road is often poorly maintained. However, we believe it is worth the journey.

There is also the option to charter a plane to Marsa Matrouh, which reduces the driving time to 3 hours, but this boasts a significantly higher price tag.

Are children welcome?

Adrere Amellal in Siwa Oasis does welcome children, but given its remote, eco-focused setting, it is better suited to families with older children who can appreciate its unique, off-grid environment. The lodge offers an immersive experience with no electricity or modern conveniences, making it ideal for those looking to disconnect and engage with nature and culture. Activities include exploring ancient ruins and learning about local Berber traditions, which can be fascinating for curious young travellers.
