Wyoming draws you in with its open horizons, jagged peaks and huge skies. Ride out with a wrangler, look for wildlife in Yellowstone, or retreat to a quiet riverside base. Whether you prefer calm or high-energy days, we’ll tailor a journey that feels true to the West.

Why travel to Wyoming

Wyoming stands out because it still feels genuinely untamed. The horizon stretches for miles, the mountains rise in sharp relief, and wildlife is part of the everyday scene rather than an occasional treat. Yellowstone and Grand Teton are the famous names, yet the real appeal often appears in the quieter moments. Think geothermal pools steaming at first light, hoofbeats carrying across open ground, or a night sky so clear you realise how much you usually miss.

Travellers who appreciate space, both physical and mental, tend to find Wyoming deeply restorative. Days can be as gentle or energetic as you like. Ride with a wrangler, hike high-country trails, drift along a broad river or spend time learning the rhythms of ranch life. Jackson brings culture, art and good food while still holding onto its frontier roots.

There is also a strong sense of heritage. Indigenous histories, cowboy traditions and important conservation work all shape the character of the state and add depth to the experience.

If you want a destination that feels authentic, vast and quietly powerful, Wyoming offers a rare kind of escape that stays with you long after your return.

Our highlights in Wyoming

Our Destination Expert’s top tip

Wyoming is so much more than Yellowstone and Jackson Hole and while those are absolutely worth exploring, the rest of the state is a gem for anyone who wants to dive into the history of the Wild West, or to simply explore rural America.

Wyoming, USA
Seat of democracy?

Wyoming was the first place in the world to grant women the right to vote, in 1869, a full 50 years before it became law across the United States. It’s a pioneering spirit that still defines the state today, from its vast, untamed landscapes to its fiercely independent way of life.

Open spaces

Wyoming is the least populated state in the United States, with fewer than 600,000 residents across an area larger than the UK. That remarkable sense of space defines the experience here, vast horizons, empty roads and landscapes where you can travel for miles without seeing another soul.

What our clients say
My latest cazenove+loyd adventure was a return to Africa in June 2018, this time to Zambia, Victoria Falls and Botswana. The plan was for three of us but at the very last minute, my friends had to cancel. I had special attention from the staff in each camp. There was a bottle of Champagne waiting at the hotel in Victoria Falls. These are the small touches that set c+l apart.
What our clients say
The Delta was spectacular with an abundance of animals and birdlife. The highlight of this camp was the helicopter flight giving us a 'drone' perspective of the region, during which we could truly appreciate the intricacy of the multiple waterways, lagoons and vegetation. Our gorgeous chopper pilot, all the way from New Zealand, surprised us with Champagne by the edge of a massive lagoon. What a treat!
What our clients say
The highlight of the Kalahari for us was the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The food here was also outstanding, and with each meal, we were seated at a communal table. Overall, our safari was an incredible experience, made up of three very different camps, spending three nights in each and made even more special by our guides and the supporting staff at each of the camps. The care and attention to detail throughout the trip was faultless.
