FAQs about our Luxury Singapore Holidays

When is the best time to visit Singapore?

Singapore is warm and humid all year, with temperatures usually hovering between 25–32°C. Expect short, sudden showers from time to time, but they usually pass quickly, leaving plenty of sunshine for exploring the city.

We think the sweet spot for visiting is February to April. Rainfall is a bit lighter, and the city feels a little less crowded, perfect for strolling through gardens, markets, and iconic attractions. If you love lively celebrations, this is also when Chinese New Year brings the streets to life with parades and festivities.

The summer months (June to August) and December are the busiest, with more crowds. September to November can be a good alternative, but be prepared with a rain mac as there may be occasional showers, but you’ll enjoy a quieter, more relaxed experience around the city.

What to take on a luxury holiday to Singapore?

Singapore is hot and humid all year, so lightweight, breathable clothing is essential to stay comfortable while exploring the city. A light jacket or shawl is useful for air-conditioned malls, restaurants, and transport.

Comfortable walking shoes are a must for gardens, heritage districts, and city attractions. Swimwear is handy if your hotel has a pool, and don’t forget sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen to protect yourself from the strong tropical sun.

A small, reusable water bottle is useful to stay hydrated throughout the day. Sudden, heavy showers are common, so a compact umbrella or light raincoat is a practical addition. A backpack or crossbody bag will help carry essentials like your water, sunscreen, and any purchases while keeping your hands free for sightseeing.

Are luxury holidays in Singapore suitable for families?

Absolutely. Singapore offers a wealth of experiences that appeal to both adults and children, making it perfect for family luxury holidays. Many high-end hotels and resorts provide spacious family rooms or interconnecting options, children’s pools, kid-friendly dining, and babysitting services.

Family-friendly attractions are plentiful, from the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari to Sentosa Island, Gardens by the Bay, and interactive museums. Private guides can tailor itineraries to suit all ages, so everyone enjoys a balance of sightseeing, relaxation, and fun.

How long should I spend in Singapore?

We recommend a minimum of three nights in Singapore to enjoy the city’s highlights from iconic sights and luxury hotels to world-class dining and bespoke experiences. For a more leisurely pace, spending four to five nights allows you to soak in everything without feeling rushed.

After a few days in the city, it’s wonderful to head to one of the nearby islands for some relaxing beach time. We recommend five to seven nights at an island retreat, which lets you fully unwind and enjoy the sun, sea, and sand.

Families will love Nikoi Island, a rustic Robinson Crusoe-style getaway, or Bawah Reserve, which offers a more polished option for children over five. Adults seeking a quiet, stripped-back escape will enjoy Cempedak Island, with its bamboo-built villas and barefoot-luxury charm. Alternatively, Bawah Reserve provides a more refined, modern option for those looking for comfort, contemporary amenities, and a touch of elegance.

Where can I combine with Singapore?

Singapore is such a convenient hub that it’s easy to build a multi-destination trip around it. One of our favourite combinations is Malaysia, which is close enough for a short journey yet offers a completely different pace and scenery. You can travel on the Eastern & Oriental Express, a luxurious train that winds through lush landscapes, charming towns, and historic cities. It’s a slow, elegant way to see the country and adds a sense of adventure and romance to your holiday,  a perfect contrast to the bustling energy of Singapore.

If you’re looking for something a little further afield, the Maldives makes an excellent city-and-beach combination. After a few days exploring Singapore, a few nights on a Maldivian island is the ultimate way to unwind. It’s the perfect balance: a few days of city excitement followed by some truly restorative island time.

Is Singapore safe?

Yes, Singapore is one of the safest cities to travel. The streets are clean, the crime rate is very low, and the city is extremely well-organised. You can feel confident exploring both the bustling downtown areas and quieter neighbourhoods, day or night.

As with any destination, it’s wise to take basic precautions: keep an eye on your belongings, be aware of your surroundings, and follow local rules and customs.

What are the food and dining options in Singapore?

Singapore is a true foodie paradise with a mix of world-class fine dining, casual eateries, and vibrant street food. You’ll find everything from Michelin-starred restaurants and rooftop dining with city views to local hawker centres serving iconic dishes like chilli crab, laksa, and Hainanese chicken rice.

The city’s multicultural heritage means there’s a rich variety of flavours, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Peranakan, and more, so every meal is an opportunity to explore something new.

Our Destination Experts will use their first-hand knowledge and recommend the best places to eat in Singapore.

What kind of places will I stay at in Singapore?

Singapore offers a wide range of luxury accommodation, from iconic five-star hotels in the heart of the city to stylish boutique properties that focus on design, comfort, and personalised service. Many of the city’s luxury hotels feature world-class dining, rooftop pools, and exceptional spa facilities, while smaller boutique hotels often provide a more intimate and uniquely Singaporean experience.

Our Destination Experts have handpicked the city’s best luxury hotels and will recommend the ones that suit your needs and preferences, whether you’re looking for a central city base, a family-friendly stay, or a tranquil retreat in the midst of the urban buzz.
