Country Highlights

Drifting silently above the ochre dunes of Sossusvlei at sunrise is one of Namibia’s most unforgettable experiences. As the first light hits the sand, the landscape shifts through shades of gold, amber and rust. From above, you can trace ancient riverbeds and spot oryx below. After landing, a champagne breakfast is served in the middle of the desert – the perfect end to a truly magical flight.

The Skeleton Coast remains one of Namibia’s most remote and untouched regions, where exclusivity comes not from luxury alone but from sheer isolation. Few travellers reach this otherworldly coastline of shifting fog, shipwrecks and endless dunes. Here, you’ll encounter desert-adapted wildlife such as elephant, lion and brown hyena, all surviving against the odds in an arid, windswept landscape. Private access, expert guiding and fly-in safaris ensure a deeply personal and privileged experience.

Omaanda offers a peaceful, luxurious base just outside Windhoek, set on a private reserve where rhino, elephant and leopard roam. Thatched villas blend traditional style with quiet indulgence, each with a fireplace and panoramic views. It’s close enough for a guided visit into Windhoek to explore local markets and cafés, yet remote enough to feel completely removed, the perfect balance of city access and wild tranquillity.

Damaraland offers some of the clearest night skies in Africa, thanks to its remote location and minimal light pollution. As darkness falls, the sky transforms into a vast dome of stars, with the Milky Way arching overhead. Stargazing here is completely unhurried, best enjoyed from a canvas verandah or beside a crackling fire. For many, it is one of the most quietly powerful moments of their journey.

Just outside Swakopmund, the rolling dunes of the Namib Desert offer a thrilling setting for sandboarding. Whether you go head-first on a lie-down board or try the steeper slopes standing up, the rush is unforgettable. No ski lifts here, it’s climb and ride, but the reward is in the speed, the views and the sheer novelty of surfing some of the world’s oldest sand.

Tracking rhino on foot in Ongava, near Etosha, is a rare and humbling experience. Led by expert guides and trackers, you’ll follow subtle signs through the bush in search of these powerful yet surprisingly quiet creatures. The reserve is home to both black and white rhino, and seeing them up close, on their terms, brings a new perspective to conservation. It’s slow, careful, and deeply memorable, one of Namibia’s most meaningful encounters.
The elusive leopard

Spotting leopard in Okonjima is both thrilling and purposeful. Using radio telemetry, expert guides track individuals that roam the reserve’s varied terrain. Sightings often happen at close range, offering an incredible view of these elusive cats in their natural environment. Because Okonjima is also a centre for big cat research, each encounter carries meaning, contributing to ongoing conservation work while giving guests rare access to truly wild behaviour.
