Good to know

How to get there

Nayara Springs Hotel is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours (around 120km) from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, Costa Rica. The scenic drive takes you through picturesque rural landscapes and offers views of the country’s lush mountains and forests.

Alternatively, Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia is another option, which is roughly 3 to 3.5 hours (around 130km) away by car. Both airports provide easy access for international travellers.

Are children welcome?

Nayara Springs is an adults-only hotel, meaning children are not permitted to stay at this property. It is specifically designed to offer a quiet, romantic, and exclusive environment for couples and honeymooners seeking a private and tranquil experience in the heart of Costa Rica’s rainforest.

However, its sister property, Nayara Gardens, located nearby, is family-friendly and welcomes children, offering a more inclusive experience for families.

Giving back

Nayara Springs is deeply committed to sustainability and regenerative tourism, focusing on environmental stewardship and community support. The resort has implemented various eco-friendly practices, including building structures that maximise natural light and ventilation to reduce energy use. They have also eliminated single-use plastics, replacing them with reusable materials, and implemented comprehensive recycling programmes.

A major part of their sustainability efforts is reforestation. Nayara Springs has planted thousands of native trees, creating a haven for wildlife, including sloths and birds. Additionally, the resort supports Arenal National Park’s conservation efforts.

Nayara also places great emphasis on community development, with most of their staff coming from nearby towns. The resort provides employees with free transportation, education on sustainable tourism, and health services. They also support local artists and run social initiatives, including early education for employees’ children and financial aid to local organisations.
