Highlights

  • Adults-only boutique: Kura is exclusively for adult guests, fostering a calm, romantic atmosphere tailored to couples and honeymooners, with no children on property.

  • Panoramic ocean views: Perched high above the Pacific, the hotel’s vantage point delivers broad, uninterrupted sea views — especially dramatic at sunrise and sunset.

  • Private plunge pools: Many suites include their own plunge pools or outdoor soaking spaces, so you can relax in privacy with the ocean as a backdrop.

  • Thoughtful design: The property combines minimalist luxury with natural materials; interiors feel warm and contemporary, and public spaces are arranged to maximise the surrounding views and tranquillity.

  • Intimate dining: The on-site restaurant serves creative cuisine built around fresh, local ingredients, with service that emphasises relaxed, personalised dining rather than bustling crowds.

  • Sunset focus: Communal terraces and lounge areas are oriented toward the horizon, making sunset watching a defining daily ritual — whether from your suite, the restaurant or the infinity terrace.

Good to know

How to get there

From San José, Kura Boutique Hotel is around 220 kilometres south. By private transfer or self-drive, the journey typically takes four to five hours, depending on traffic and weather, following the Costanera Sur highway before climbing inland. An alternative is a 45-minute domestic flight from San José to Quepos or Palmar Sur, followed by a 60–90 minute road transfer to the hotel.

Are children welcome?

Children are not welcome at Kura Boutique Hotel. The hotel is strictly adults only, designed for couples and honeymooners seeking privacy, tranquillity and a calm, romantic atmosphere throughout their stay.

Giving back

Kura Boutique Hotel operates with sustainability at the core of its design and daily operations. The hotel eliminates single-use plastics, uses solar power and energy-efficient systems, and harvests rainwater for irrigation. Waste is reduced through recycling and on-site composting, while the saltwater infinity pool limits chemical use. Natural, responsibly sourced materials are prioritised, and the hotel actively supports local communities through employment, partnerships and conservation-led initiatives.

How to spend your time here

  • Slow mornings: Wake to wide Pacific views, enjoy breakfast on the terrace and let the day unfold without a fixed schedule.

  • Poolside downtime: Spend long stretches by the infinity pool, alternating between shaded loungers and refreshing swims.

  • In-suite relaxation: Enjoy time in your private plunge pool or outdoor space, ideal for quiet moments together.

  • Coastal exploration: Visit nearby beaches and coves, or explore Ballena Marine National Park and its shoreline.

  • Guided excursions: Arrange rainforest walks, waterfall visits or marine encounters through the hotel’s concierge.

  • Dining and sunsets: Plan evenings around relaxed dining and watching the sun dip below the horizon from the terrace.

Why we love Kura Boutique Hotel

Much of Costa Rica’s coastline is well developed with almost countless hotel options, this section, however, is wonderfully quiet, making it the perfect location for this gorgeoius little hotel with it’s stunning views across the ocean.
