Cliffside Setting – Positioned above the Pacific Ocean, the hotel enjoys wide views across the coastline and surrounding volcanic landscape.
Contemporary Island Design – Architecture inspired by Rapa Nui traditions combines natural materials, curved forms and earthy tones that echo the island’s terrain.
Private Villas – Spacious standalone villas provide privacy, generous terraces and panoramic views across the ocean or island landscape.
Guided Island Exploration – Expert local guides lead excursions to archaeological sites, volcanic craters and ceremonial platforms across the island.
Wellness and Relaxation – A tranquil spa, outdoor pool and quiet spaces for yoga and meditation reflect the calm atmosphere of the island.
Rapa Nui Culture – Experiences highlight the island’s Polynesian heritage, from storytelling and traditions to insights into the history of the moai.

Nayara includes a variety of excursions and activities designed to provide an immersive experience of Easter Island’s unique landscape and culture. Here are some of the highlights:
Rano Raraku Quarry – Visit the volcanic crater where the island’s moai statues were carved, with hundreds of partially completed figures still scattered across the slopes.
Ahu Tongariki Sunrise – Watch the sun rise behind the island’s largest ceremonial platform, where fifteen restored moai stand facing inland.
Rano Kau and Orongo – Explore the dramatic crater of Rano Kau and the nearby ceremonial village of Orongo, centre of the historic Birdman competition.
Anakena Beach and Ahu Nau Nau – Discover the island’s most beautiful beach, overlooked by a row of well-preserved moai on a restored ceremonial platform.
Petroglyphs and Coastal Walks – Walk along the island’s rugged coastline to see ancient rock carvings and archaeological remains linked to early Rapa Nui culture.
Cultural Encounters – Learn about the island’s traditions through storytelling, history and insights into the beliefs that shaped the creation of the moai.
To get to Nayara Easter Island, you will first need to fly into Santiago Airport. From there, there is one flight a day to Easter Island (usually in the morning) and the duration is 5 hours 40 minutes. On arrival, you will be collected from the airport and taken to the lodge, located approximately 15 minutes’ drive away.
Yes, children of any age are welcome at Nayara. The lodge offers various activities suitable for younger guests and families.
The sustainability approach at Nayara Hangaroa on Easter Island focuses on protecting the fragile ecosystem of Rapa Nui while supporting the local community and preserving cultural heritage.
Sustainable architecture: The hotel’s curved buildings and green roofs are inspired by traditional Rapa Nui design and the ceremonial village of Orongo. Natural materials such as volcanic stone, clay and local wood help the buildings blend into the island’s landscape.
Renewable energy: Solar panels and other renewable energy systems help generate electricity and reduce the resort’s environmental impact.
Water conservation: A wastewater treatment system allows greywater to be recycled for irrigation, helping protect the island’s limited freshwater resources.
Waste management: Recycling programmes and environmental initiatives, including coastal clean-ups, aim to minimise waste and protect the surrounding environment.
Local sourcing: Restaurants prioritise seasonal produce from local farmers and suppliers, supporting the island’s economy and reducing transport impact.
Community engagement: Many staff, guides and artisans come from the Rapa Nui community, and the hotel supports cultural preservation, education and local employment.
A stay at Nayara Hangaroa on Easter Island is designed to combine comfort with guided exploration of the island’s landscapes and archaeological sites.
Accommodation in ocean-view rooms or suites with private terraces overlooking the Pacific.
Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring seasonal ingredients and local flavours.
Guided excursions across the island, led by knowledgeable local guides visiting key archaeological and cultural sites.
Airport transfers between Mataveri Airport and the hotel.
Access to the hotel’s swimming pool, spa and wellness areas.
Use of bicycles to explore nearby areas around Hanga Roa.
Wi-Fi and access to hotel facilities throughout your stay.
This location, on the edge of Hanga Roa, overlooking the ocean is one of the very best on the Island. When that is combined with architecture that reflects local traditions and beautifully appointed rooms, this really is one of the best spots in the world.
