Highlights

  • Frozen Retreat: Hôtel de Glace is built almost entirely from ice and snow and is reconstructed each winter around a new theme, which inspires its suites, ice sculptures, and frozen décor. The hotel features an ice restaurant, ice bar, and even an ice chapel.
  • Hôtel de Glace Restaurant: Art and Gastronomy come together to create an exceptional experience. The restaurant offers three course gourmet meals, that are inspired by Nordic Flavours.

  • Winter Activities: There are a variety of activities to enjoy, including snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice skating, and guided tours of the ice hotel grounds.
  • Themed Suites: The rooms are creatively designed with ice furniture and unique artistic carvings. They are also equipped with thermal sleeping bags to ensure a warm night’s sleep.
  • Hotel Valcartier: Guests who book suites at the Hôtel de Glace will also receive a room at the Hotel Valcartier next door on the same night, where they can make use of the shower and store their luggage.

Good to know

How do we get there?

From Québec City, the journey to Hôtel de Glace takes 20-30 minutes with a driver.

Are children welcome?

Yes, Hôtel de Glace welcomes children. Families can enjoy the ice suites, ice sculptures, and seasonal activities, including snowshoeing, ice skating, and guided tours of the property. Children must be accompanied by adults, and warm clothing is essential, as the temperature is below freezing inside the hotel.

Giving back

Hotel de Glace naturally helps the environment by being made of ice and snow.  It’s construction and melting cycle is a core part of its eco-friendly model, as it is built and disappears each spring without leaving lasting waste.

What's Included?

Guests are welcomed with a cocktail served in an ice glass. They can relax in the Nordic area, which has outdoor hot tubs and saunas under the stars. Stays include access to the ice-skating path, warm insulated sleeping gear, and evening activities like ice-sculpting workshops. Nearby, Village Vacances Valcartier offers a large winter playground with tubing slides and sled runs.

A room at Hotel Valcartier, next door, is also included the nights stay. This gives guests a warm space to be able to shower and store their luggage.

Why we love Hôtel de Glace

Staying at Hôtel de Glace is a truly unique experience. Sleeping in rooms carved from ice is surprisingly peaceful, as the snow naturally absorbs sound, creating complete silence.
