Why visit Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s largest and most diverse wildlife reserve, offers an unforgettable safari experience with vast landscapes, incredible biodiversity, and exceptional game viewing. Covering over 14,600 square kilometres, Hwange is home to more than 100 mammal species, including one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the rare African wild dog.

Game drives through open savannahs, teak forests, and seasonal wetlands reveal a constantly changing ecosystem, while walking safaris offer the chance to track wildlife on foot with expert guides. The park’s famous waterholes, many artificially maintained during the dry season, attract huge herds of elephants, buffalo, and antelope, creating spectacular wildlife encounters.

For a unique experience, night drives uncover Hwange’s elusive nocturnal species, such as leopards, civets, and hyenas. Luxury lodges and intimate bush camps provide secluded accommodations, often overlooking wildlife-rich areas.

Easily accessible from Victoria Falls, Hwange offers a less crowded, more immersive safari compared to other African parks.
