Flora Sweeting shares her experience of travelling on Vietnam’s most luxurious train.
Feeling a little bleary-eyed, I left my Hoi An hotel bright and early, eagerly anticipating my journey to Quy Nhon, where I would soon bask on white, powdery beaches.
Upon arrival in Da Nang, I was warmly greeted by a friendly member of staff who swiftly whisked away my luggage and led me to the cool, air-conditioned lounge. It was the perfect place to relax and refresh before boarding the Vietage train.
The cabin itself is a harmonious blend of East meets West, exuding a calming atmosphere with its light woods, bamboo cane accents, and soft lines. The intimate two-person booths were incredibly comfortable, offering the ideal setting to sit back and enjoy the scenic views as they slowly rolled by. Travelling by train in Vietnam may not be the fastest mode of transport, but it is perfect for those who relish taking their time and sipping a glass of bubbles along the way.
