  • Artistic Elegance: The Main Lodge elegantly showcases Bhutanese artistry and monastic design, with murals and carvings created by local artisans, reflecting the valley’s vibrant landscapes.
  • Bhutanese Dining: Guests can explore exotic and inventive dishes on the Bhutanese menu or find comfort in classic favourites. The creative menus, inspired by regional cuisines, are customised to individual tastes by the skilled chefs.
  • Holistic Wellbeing and Immersive Experiences: Gangtey Lodge focuses on wellbeing by immersing guests in the Gangtey Valley’s culture and natural beauty. Spiritual blessings, community engagement, and rejuvenating activities foster reconnection with oneself and loved ones.

Good to know

How do we get there?

To reach Phobjikha Valley in Bhutan, you would typically begin by flying into Paro International Airport, Bhutan’s sole international airport. From Paro, a scenic drive of approximately 4 to 5 hours through winding mountain roads and picturesque landscapes will take you to Gangtey Lodge. Alternatively, you can fly to the domestic airport at nearby Bathpalathang in Bumthang District and enjoy a scenic drive of about 3 to 4 hours to Gangtey. The journey offers breathtaking views of Bhutan’s Himalayan scenery, quaint villages, and glimpses of traditional Bhutanese architecture.

What is included?

A stay at Gangtey Lodge offers a choice of full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) or half board (breakfast and dinner). Guests also receive complimentary tea and coffee, a selection of beverages, free WiFi, and additional services such as laundry and shoe cleaning.

Are children welcome?

Yes, children are welcome at Gangtey Lodge.

The aim is to help children unplug from their screens and reconnect with the natural world. The lodge and the surrounding valley provide a wealth of authentic experiences to ignite their curiosity. Kids can engage in activities like milking cows and making cheese at a local farmhouse, or explore ancient trails through pine forests and crane roosting grounds. They will also enjoy archery lessons or making momos in cooking classes. Each day concludes with recounting their adventures over homemade hot chocolate and marshmallows by the fireplace.

Giving back

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Gangtey Lodge’s philosophy. The lodge is designed using local materials and traditional techniques to seamlessly blend with the environment while minimising its ecological footprint. It incorporates energy-saving measures such as solar panels and efficient lighting and employs a comprehensive waste management system focused on recycling and composting. Water conservation is also prioritised with the use of water-saving technologies. The lodge supports local farmers by sourcing ingredients locally, thus reducing transportation emissions. Additionally, Gangtey Lodge fosters community engagement through training and employment opportunities and contributes to local conservation and cultural projects. This commitment extends to preserving the natural beauty of the Phobjikha Valley and protecting wildlife habitats.
