Good to know

How to get there

Estancia + Bodega Colomé is fabulously remote, yet the journey to get there is one of the most spectacular in all of Argentina. From Salta, a spectacular drive winds through cactus-studded valleys, dramatic mountain passes and remote villages before reaching the vineyards of Colomé in the Calchaquí Valleys. It might take 4 or 5 hours, but it’s absolutely worth it.

For those short on time, it is possible to do this by helicopter and still take in the stunning landscape from above.

Are children welcome?

Children over the age of 12 are welcome at the Estancia, unless you book the entire estate for private use (which would make for an incredible family holiday).

Giving back

Respect for the land lies at the heart of the Colomé experience. Water is sourced from Andean snowmelt and used sparingly through drip irrigation, while a hydroelectric system harnesses mountain streams to generate renewable energy for the estate. The vineyards are farmed using sustainable practices that encourage biodiversity and minimise chemical intervention, helping to preserve this remarkable landscape for future generations. Beyond the estate, Colomé also supports local communities through long-term investment in education and village infrastructure.

Why we love Estancia + Bodega Colomé

We could talk about the journey to get here being part of the experience or the fabulous location that is completely separated from the rest of the world, or the amazing wines and fabulous food. We could even detail the James Turrell museum, any of these make it an incredible place. But ultimately it is a sense of exclusivity, the feeling that you have discovered somewhere that no one else knows about, that makes it so special.
