How to get there

Aguas Arriba Lodge is reached via a scenic journey from El Chaltén, beginning with a drive of approximately one hour to Lago del Desierto, followed by a boat crossing of around 15–20 minutes to the lodge. The journey itself forms part of the experience, with spectacular views of Patagonia’s mountains, forests, and glaciers along the way.

Are children welcome?

Yes, Aguas Arriba welcomes children aged 12 and above due to the remote location and safety considerations around the lake and hiking access.

Aguas Arriba Lodge has been thoughtfully designed to operate in harmony with its remote Patagonian surroundings. Built using locally sourced timber and low-impact construction methods, the lodge places a strong emphasis on preserving the natural environment while encouraging a deeper connection to the landscape.

Its small-scale, off-grid setting and carefully managed excursions help minimise environmental impact while supporting a more sustainable and mindful style of travel.

What's Included.

Stays at Aguas Arriba Lodge are offered on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, dinner, picnics, and non-alcoholic drinks included throughout the day. Guests also benefit from boat transfers across Lago del Desierto, daily guided trekking excursions, and a selection of outdoor experiences tailored to weather conditions and guest preferences.

Yoga, meditation sessions, and certain fly-fishing experiences are also included. Alcoholic beverages, private guides, and some specialist activities are available at an additional cost.
