2024 is the year you should travel to Japan
Auriole Potter shares five reasons to travel to Japan in the coming year.
1. Take advantage of cazenove+loyd’s knowledge and extensive contacts.
Having recently returned from a comprehensive research trip, our Asia team is primed with the most up-to-date advice on hotels, restaurants and experiences. We strongly recommend you start making plans to travel to Japan in 2024.
2. Experience Japan’s legendary pre-pandemic service levels, as the industry returns to normal.
In the period directly after Covid-19, a mass exodus of personnel from the travel and hospitality sectors meant that service levels were clunky, and availability of excellent guides was at an all-time low. Now however, there are signs of a resurgence, and we predict that 2024 will see the industry return to its former levels of excellence.
3. Stay at exciting new hotels.
If you decide to travel to Japan in 2024 you can stay at one of the exciting hotels opening now. Tokyo will welcome the arrival of Janu, the first property of Aman’s new, more playful, sister brand, while in Kyoto, both Six Senses and Banyan Tree will launch their inaugural Japanese offerings.
4. Get in there now – 2025 will be busy again.
As we saw in 2019 with the Rugby World Cup, when Japan hosts the World Expo in Osaka in 2025, prices are likely to rise while availability will decrease.
5. 2024 will be less crowded than 2023.
Japan has seen a massive boom in tourism this year, as the country reopened, and three years’ worth of travellers made their bucket list holiday a reality. 2024, we hope, should see a return to normal levels of visitors and, whilst parts of Japan are always going to be crowded, next year it’ll be easier to leave others behind.
